Building Porches
If you can't grow shade, build it. With only two juniper trees on our five acres, we decided to build some shade in the form of front and back porches. The front porch will remain open for viewing the beautiful expanse of the Ruby Mountains out our front window while the back porch will eventually be enclosed and become our "mudroom" or as I like to think about it, our salvation from rainy and snowy weather.
